The political system in Estonia is a parlementary representative, democratic republic. The prime-minister is the head of the government. The political system in Estonia is very stable, the power is shared between three political parties in the short democratic history of Estonia. The current prime-minister; Andrus Ansip, is the second longest- serving prime minister in Europe.

Parliament
The parliament of Estonia that is called the “Riigikogu” represents the legislative branch. Elections are held for a mandate of 4 years by people by proportional representation. The parliament consists of 101 members who influence the government in several ways. For example the parlaimant has to approve the laws which are addopted by the government. The parliaments most important role is the determination of the incomes and the expenses of Estonian governments budget and taxes. The Estonian parliament also reprensent the government beside the Estonian people and discuss the government decisions.

Government
The government of Estonia which is called the “Vabariigi Valitsus” represents the executive branch. It is formed by the Prime-minister and the ministers. The Prime- minister was nominated by the President and approved by the parliament. The government consists of 12 ministers including the Prime-minister. The Prime-minister has the right to appoint new ministers if the situation makes it neccesary.
However, a limit of 15 ministers exists in accordance with the Estonian law. Each minister has a department, which consists of work groups for the different managerial tasks for this department. The Estonian government is responsible for the leadership of the country. The right to vote counts for all mentally healthy Estonians at a minimal age of 18 and are held every 4 years. To make the elections more convinient, the Estonian government decided to make an e- government elections system. Since 2005, the Estonian people can vote by internet.
Law
The supreme jurisdictual power is exercised by the Supreme Court. It consists of 10 districts. The Chief Justice is appointed by the Parliament for 9 years.

President of Estonia
The President is the head of the State. He (or she) is elected by the Parliament. Two- thirds of the votes are required. If the candidate has not received this amount of votes, the dicision will be given to a special assembly. This assembly consists of 101 members from the Parliament and special representatives of local councils. The president gives his approval for the new laws put forward by the government, but the president also has the right to propose laws himself.

Estonaian Waste Laws are in accordance to the Waste European Act. Here is a link to an Estonian website witch present this Waste Act. For the E-Waste Management, Estonia is also in accordance with the WEEE Directive.
